Carroll Woman Charged With Eluding And Child Endangerment Sentenced Thursday On Reduced Charges

A Carroll woman arrested over the summer after refusing to pull over for a traffic stop with an infant in the car was sentenced Thursday on reduced charges. Twenty-year-old Kylie Nicole Armstrong was originally charged with child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and eluding, a serious misdemeanor. A Carroll Police Department officer attempted to pull over Armstrong on Granada Road on June 24 for a routine traffic stop, but she ignored the signals and refused to pull over. Law enforcement later located marijuana, a glass smoking device, a small bag containing white powder and an improperly secured one-year-old in the back seat of her car. Armstrong plead guilty to failure to properly use child restraints and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, both simple misdemeanors, after reaching an agreement with prosecutors and was ordered to pay over $600 in fines, surcharges and court costs.
