Carroll 53
Carroll had their 3 game winning streak snapped as they lost at home on Tuesday. They were outscored in three of the four quarters but found themselves down by only 4 to start the 4th quarter thanks to an 11-0 run to start the 3rd quarter that cut a 14 points halftime deficit to 3. Carroll led twice in the game but only by 1 point each time. They grabbed a 9-8 lead on bucket by Gabi Hammer in the 1st quarter and took a 21-20 lead on layup by Kennedy Lein in the 2nd quarter.

Carroll came out of the locker room to start the 3rd and began to establish the inside game with Ella Collison who led the Tigers with 14 points. That helped jump start an offense that struggled in the 1st half, especially in the 2nd quarter when they were outscored 21-12. A bucket by Addison Klocke late in the 3rd cut it to 42-38 and Carroll looked good heading to the 4th. Abi Zimmer averages 4 points per game for North Polk, but she came up huge for them in the 1st half with 13 points as the Comets made 6-3’s. Zimmer hit a big 3 early in the 4th extending the Comets lead to 51-43. She finished with a game high 20 points. Carroll kept the game around 7-9 points until the closing minutes when North Polk closed with free throws.
