Twelve CHS Large Group Speech Teams Advance To State

More than 10 Carroll High School (CHS) large group speech teams have made it through districts to compete in the state contest in February. Large group speech involves a group of students performing a rehearsed skit or improvising a presentation on a randomly selected topic. The in-person performances were held last week at Manson-Northwest Webster High School, and 12 CHS teams earned “I” ratings to advance to the next competition. These include: one one-act play, two readers theatre, one short film, one musical theatre, four ensemble acting and three improvisation groups. The full list of competing students can be found included below this story. Students will travel to Fort Dodge High School on Saturday, Feb. 6 for the state contest. The top entries at this level will be nominated by judges for All-State honors and perform again later this year.
