An investigation continues following a semi/pickup truck accident Wednesday in Jefferson. An officer responded to the scene at the intersection of Elm and Clark Streets at approximately 11:44 a.m. Christine Rasmussen of Le Mars was driving a 2020 International semi-tractor trailer, owned by Shuster Company, northbound in the inside lane of North Elm. She had her turn signal on to navigate a right-hand turn onto Clark Street, but needed to begin the turn from the inside lane for the trailer to track around the corner. As she began to turn, she struck a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Amanda Clark of Jefferson, that was also northbound on Elm. There was no report of injuries, but the Silverado suffered an estimated $6,000 in damage and the semi an estimated $4,500 in damages. Citations are possible at the conclusion of the investigation.
