Local ISP Troopers And Other Law Enforcement Officers Forego Game Day To Keep Regional Highways Safe

Hopefully everyone will be able to enjoy a whole lot of fast-moving action during this Sunday’s Super Bowl game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But Trooper Shelby McCreedy, with the Iowa State Patrol District 4 office in Denison, says you are guaranteed to see a whole lot more law enforcement action on our regional roadways Sunday as well. She explains they will have an enhanced presence as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau special enforcement actions.

McCreedy says the multi-state initiative will have several different agencies working in partnership to look for specific infractions on Iowa’s roadways.

McCreedy says the key to a safe celebration for Super Bowl Sunday is planning ahead.

McCreedy adds that motorists are also encouraged to report dangerous drivers as well by contacting their local law enforcement agencies, or by calling 911 if that local number is not available.
