Kuemper will send 4 wrestlers to the district meet next Saturday as they finished in 3rd as a team going 9-14 in matches. The Knights had 3 wrestlers of their 12-take 1st place and another finished in 2nd. They finished the day with 6 wins by fall and a major decision. Riley Parkis won at 106 pounds going 1-0, Shae Parkis also advanced as a champion at 138 going 2-0 with a fall, Cal Wanninger was the champion at 220 going 2-0 with a fall and a major decision. South Central Calhoun, East Sac, Audubon and Coon Rapids Bayard At Class 1A Sectional 2 At Ogden

South Central Calhoun claimed the sectional championship sending 7 of their 14 wrestlers to next week’s district meet with 3 champions and 4 runners-ups. The Titans went 17-17 in matches and had 15 of their 17 wins by fall with another win by Major Decision. Justin Rohlfing went 1-0 with a major decision to finish 1st at 113. Blake McAlister was 2-0 with both wins by fall in claiming the 170 championship, Jayden Soard was also dominant in winning the 220-championship going 2-0 with both wins by fall. Jordan Khommayvong was 2nd at 132 going 2-1 with both wins by fall, Kevin King went 2-1 with 2 wins by fall in finishing 2nd at 145, Zachary Trott went 2-1 at 152 and finished 2nd with 2 wins by fall, Jaydon Maschke was the other qualifier going 3-1 with 3 wins by fall as he finished 2nd at 160.

East Sac was the runner-up in the team standings and qualified 2 of the 14 kids that wrestled. The Raiders went 11-22 on the day with 8 wins by fall and a tech fall. Garrett Quirk and Justin Rupnow were both champions at 160 and 285. Quirk went 2-0 and Rupnow was 1-0 with a win by fall.

Audubon sends 3 of the 8 kids they wrestled to districts going 9-7 on the day with 2 champions and a runner-up. Carter Andreasen was 2-0 with a fall in winning the title at 145 while Javyn Bladt went 2-0 with a pair of falls as he won the title at 182. Cooper Nielsen also advanced taking 2nd at 195 while going 2-1 with 2 wins by fall.

Coon Rapids Bayard might have had the best day of anyone. They had 4 wrestlers and are sending 3 to districts with Kale Pevestorf a champion and Aaron McAlister and Josue Ramirez taking 2nd place. Pevestorf won the title at 195 going 2-0 with a fall and major decision. McAlister was 2nd at 220 going 1-1 with a fall and Ramirez took 2nd at 285 going 1-1 with a major decision. The Crusaders finished the day 5-3 in matches with 3 falls and 2 major decisions.
