Trees For Kids Applications Open With Iowa DNR

The application process for the Trees for Kids program is open now through 4 p.m. Friday, March 5. The popular Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Urban Forestry program grants up to $2,500 to cover the cost of trees and mulch that are planted on public property and includes youth education. DNR staff members will provide guidance and demonstrations to students on planting, mulching and watering as they plant their trees. Although six counties align with federal requirements and will receive first preference, awards will be made across the state and outside of these priority counties as well. Those counties are Pottawattamie, Cass, Mills, Montgomery, Fremont and Page. For more information and an application, follow the link included below.
