Commercial Savings Bank (CSB) has taken to social media, warning area businesses of a new COVID-19 phishing scheme that has scammers posing as members of the Small Business Administration (SBA), trying to solicit applications for the latest round of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). They are sending out emails saying registration for the program can be completed by following a provided link. CSB is recommending that if any such email is received, that you DO NOT click on any links or attachments and delete the email. The attempted fraud can be reported to local authorities or to the Iowa Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division through the contact points included below.
