The first half was tight with 5 lead changes and 6 ties. The last tie was 22-22 with just over 2:00 left in the half. Woodbine closed the half thanks to some Coon Rapids Bayard turnovers on an 11-0 run. Things didn’t get better to start the 3rd. The Tigers scored after another Crusader turnover to make it 35-22. The Crusaders answered with a 3 from Gabe Obert but Woodbine went on a 14-0 run and led 49-25 late in the 3rd quarter. Coon Rapids Bayard came out shooting well with Tanner Oswald knocking down three early 3’s hits last in the 1st half gave them a 17-15 lead. They would only lead one more time at 18-17.
Gabe Obert paced the Crusaders with 16 points and 3 assists, Tanner Oswald added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Lance Clayburg had 10 points and Josue Ramirez had 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
The Crusaders fall to 5-7 overall and 5-6 in the Rolling Valley. They will play their 3rd game in a month on Tuesday when they host CAM Anita. The Crusaders have also had just 3 practices in the last month.

Glidden Ralston trailed by 2 at the end of the 1st quarter but the Hawkeyes remained tied for the top of the Rolling Valley Conference taking control in the 2nd quarter, extending the lead to 14 at half. The undersized Wildcats fought hard inside but struggled on the glass and finished the game with 16 rebounds. Brigham Daniel and Cale Kloke provided the offense with Daniel getting a nifty break away 2-handed dunk. He finished with 10 points and a pair of steals, Klocke finished with 9 points and Karter Kennebeck added 6 points.
The loss drops the Wildcats to 3-16 overall and 2-12 in the Rolling Valley Conference. The Wildcats are off until they open their postseason run at home against Paton Churdan.

Paton Churdan wrapped up the season with a tough road loss at CAM Anita. The Rockets were down 9 at the end of the 1st quarter and 14 at half. The Cougars opened things up in the 3rd and were up by 30 heading in the final stanza. Paton Churdan ends the regular season 3-16 overall and 1-14 in the Rolling Valley.
Joe Carey had a team high 14 points and Shaydon Thurmas was also in double figures with 12 points.
The Rockets open postseason play Friday at Glidden Ralston on KIKD 106.7.

IKM-Manning grabbed their 2nd straight win as they rolled in the 2nd half. The game was tight and low scoring in the 1st half, tied at 8 at the end of the 1st quarter and the Wolves held a 1 point lead at half. Conner Keller and Brody Swearingen had outstanding nights on offense and Kyler Rasmussen was also in double digits as IKM-Manning outscored the Rams 41-28 in the 2nd half. The Wolves shared the ball well with 18 assists and 7 different players registering an assist.

Brody Swearingen and Connor Keller each had 20 points, Swearingen added 11 rebounds and Keller had 4 assists and 4 steals. Kyler Rasmussen finished with 12 points and 4 assists. Luke Ramey had 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
The win improves the Wolves to 6-11 overall as they head back into Western Iowa Conference action Tuesday at Underwood.

South Central Calhoun had an offensive explosion against the Indians on Monday night. The Titans scored more than 20 points in all four quarters and nearly finished the game with 100 points. The Titans opened up their 7 point 1st half lead with a big 2nd quarter and led by 15 at half. The defense held Pocahontas to 13 points in the 2nd quarter to allow them to extend their lead and put the game nearly out of reach.
Three Titan players scored more than 20 points with Joshua Dietrich leading the way with 28 points and 6 rebounds, Brennan Holder added 22 points and 4 steals and Cole Corey kept the engine running with 22 points and 10 assists. Eli Wheelock had another solid game off the bench with 11 points and T’Juan Sanders did all the little things well with 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals.
The win improves the Titans to 15-4 overall and 10-1 in the Twin Lakes Conference. They head to East Sac on Tuesday on KIKD 106.7.

The Raiders had big offensive performances from Tyler Schmitt and Camden Schroeder as they won for the 14th time this season. The game was tight early with it going back and forth in the 1st quarter with both teams shooting well. The Raiders led by 5 after the 1st quarter. Tyler Schmitt had a lot of success inside that 1st quarter and that continued in the 2nd quarter. He scored 10 points in each quarter and along with Camden Schroeder who had 11 1st quarter points helped them stretch the lead to 10 at half. Cale Niehaus hit a big 3 extending the lead to 46-36 at half. The Raiders jumped up by 17 in the 3rd but Cherokee rallied and had it back to 10. Schroeder and Schmitt stayed hot all game and were unstoppable at times. The Raider offense will get a lot of the credit with the games by Schmitt and Schroeder but the defense did a nice job containing a Brave offense that had 4 players scoring in double figures entering the game.
Tyler Schmitt finished with 35 points along with 8 rebounds, Camden Schroeder added 27 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 blocks. Joel Halbur did a nice job finding guys and had a team high 9 assists.
The win improves East Sac to 14-3 overall and they are 9-2 in the Twin Lakes Conference. The game can be heard on KIKD 106.7.
