The Carroll City Council will be holding a public hearing at their next meeting for the proposed Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 tax levy rate. The reported increase without inclusion of the debt service levy would set the maximum property tax rate at just over $10.42 ($10.42259), which represents an increase of 4.67 percent, or $248,022 from the previous fiscal year. However, when the overall tax levy is reviewed, which does include the debt service levy, the impact is an increase of 1.67 percent, or $102,907. Included below is a copy of the required public notice. This represents the maximum levy proposed and the levies that exceed a two percent increase over the previous year. In the City of Carroll’s budget proposal, this includes the regular, general, tort liability and employee benefits levies. There has been no indication as of yet that the council will open their meetings to in-person attendance by the general public. Residents can join the Monday, Feb. 22 meeting virtually, via Zoom, if they are interested in making comments on the proposed levy. zoom program. Participants who unmute themselves outside of feedback periods may be muted
