Ironically, it was a blizzard forecast and polar vortex that delayed the 32nd annual Black Hawk Men’s Club Arctic Open, originally scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 6. At that time, the organization announced they would be moving the shotgun start on Black Hawk Lake in Lake View to 12:30 p.m. this Saturday, Feb. 20. With a more promising FOREcast, the men’s club is ready to hit the ice links this weekend, and reminds everyone there is still time to register a team. This costs $25 per person and can be done between now and Saturday morning on the Black Hawk Men’s Club Facebook page or by calling 515-231-2408. Same-day registration will also take place at Town Bay from 11 a.m. to noon on the 20th.
