Carroll went on a 5-0 run to end the 1st half, cutting a 10 point deficit to 5. They opened the 2nd half on an 11-0 run and never looked back. Tory Feldman had a steal at half court and fed Colby Christensen for the layup and then Feldman made a tip in just before the halftime buzzer. Carroll trailed 37-32 at the half. Treyton Goins hit a 3 to start the 3rd and Nick Macke tied the game at 37 and Carroll was off and running. Feldman scored again on a back door cut and Carroll led 39-37. The Tigers outscored the Warriors 24-8 in the 3rd and turned the halftime deficit into a 56-45 lead heading to the 4th. The Carroll defense continued to dominate in the 4th and the offense kept raining 3’s and getting shots at the rim. Colby Christensen finished with 5-3’s and put Carroll up 43-37. Treyton Goins added a 3 to extend it to 52-42. The Tigers led by as many as 22 before finishing the game up 23. Carroll hit 10-3’s in the game. Colby Christensen had 3 in the 1st quarter and Kaleb Booth added a pair of 3’s as Carroll rallied from down 5-0 early to lead 15-10. The first half had 8 eight lead changes and 4 ties before turnovers helped the Warriors build a 10 point lead at 37-27 with just over a minute left in the half. Carroll had 8 turnovers in the 1st quarter but only had 4 in the 2nd half.

Colby Christensen led the way with 23 points, Tory Feldman finished with an energetic double-double with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Treyton Goins finished with 18 points and 3 blocks. Kaleb Booth didn’t look for his shot much after the two early 3’s but finished with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Carroll improved to 21-2 and will host Storm Lake on 93.7 KKRL on Thursday. The Titans made just 3 shots in the 1st half, a pair of 3’s and a 2 point basket along with 7 free throws. They found themselves down 27-15 and appeared to be in trouble. Things quickly changed in the 3rd as the Titans hit their first 3 shots but still trailed by 7 heading to the 4th quarter. Eli Wheelock hit the first of two big 3’s in the closing minutes and South Central Calhoun tied the game at 48 with 1:39 left in the game. Wheelock put the Titans ahead with another 3. Roland Story answered with 2 points and South Central Calhoun lead was 1. Cole Corey stepped to the line and knocked down a pair of free throws with 5 seconds left. The Norseman had a chance and got a 3 point shot up at the buzzer that drew iron but didn’t go. Brennan Holder finished with a team high 16 points, Joshua Dietrich added 12 points, 8 rebounds, Eli Wheelock had 11 points and Cole Corey contributed 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The Titans improve to 18-5 and will play Iowa Falls Alden in Marshalltown on Saturday on KIKD 106.7. The defense played well, holding the Falcons to 44 points. Joel Halbur was outstanding on defense against Cooper DeJean and Cam Schroeder did a nice job protecting the rim. The Raiders kept the tempo in their favor all night and had a couple 3 point shots late that could have made things interesting but they didn’t fall. The Raiders hit just 3-16 from beyond the arc. They didn’t attack the rim well in the 1st half but Tyler Schmitt was able to do that in the 2nd half and finished with 15 points. Tyler Schmitt led the Raiders with 15 points and 8 rebounds while Camden Schroeder added 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks. The Raiders end the season at 15-5. The Crusaders and Thunder started off this contest with five lead changes in the first quarter, at two, four, six, eight, and 10 points. The Crusaders would close out the first quarter with a layup from Josue Ramirez and take a 12-10 lead over the 18-1 Thunder. The Crusaders continued to roll in the second quarter scoring the first points of the quarter leading 14-10. This, though, would be the last time the Crusaders would lead in this contest. The Thunder would get hot from the three point line and lead it 20-14 in the middle of the second quarter. The Thunder continued to pour on the points and blocks and would take a 19 point 39-20 lead at halftime. In the second half, the Thunder continued to drain buckets, scoring another 18 points. The Crusaders struggled to keep a handle on the ball as the Thunder forced multiple turnovers and blocked shots many times in the third quarter. The Thunder would enter the fourth quarter with a 57-25 lead. Both teams would keep their starters in the contest until the final few minutes of the game. The Thunder would continue their offensive onslaught and score another 16 points and put the game away. The Thunder advanced to the Substate eight finals by defeating the Crusaders 73-32. Individually for the Crusaders, Easton Hays would wrap up his junior season with a 14 point game along with two rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Senior Josue Ramirez would be an important player in the first quarter and would end his senior season with a seven point game along with seven rebounds and one block. The Crusaders’ season comes to an end with a final record of 7-10.
