Republican U.S. Senator, Joni Ernst, on Wednesday released a statement about the Democratic proposed COVID-19 relief package and the inclusion of a $15 per hour minimum wage. She says this would be extremely harmful to Iowa’s small businesses.
She highlights one industry in particular that would see a dramatic impact, the cost of which would then be passed on to a large number of Iowa’s working families.
Ernst says she hearing from many residents and business owners across Iowa.
Ernst says as a mother, a member of the Senate Small Business Committee and a resident of Iowa, she cannot support a mandate that would be detrimental for working families.
