The Carroll County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to host the public hearing on their proposed Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 maximum property tax levy at their regularly scheduled meeting Monday. The first topic on the agenda, however, is an update from County Engineer, Zac Andersen, on secondary roads with a review of gravel contracts, bid selection for road resurfacing, utility permits and more. The public hearing opens at 9:30 a.m. The supervisors are moving forward with an urban tax rate of $4.33 per $1,000 of taxable valuation and a rural rate of $7.63. Residents will be able to submit comments prior to the meeting by emailing supervisors@carrollcountyiowa.org or during the meeting via the county’s YouTube channel. Following the hearing, the board will set a public hearing date for the finalized FY22 budget, likely for March 15. Other items on the agenda include a presentation on the county’s HIPPA policies, discussion on FEMA matching funds and manure management annual updates. Monday’s meeting begins at 9 a.m. and details on how to attend remotely along with the full agenda can be found included below.
