Carroll Man Pleads Not Guilty To Felony Drug Charge In Carroll County District Court

A Lake City man charged in Carroll County District Court for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver has been scheduled for trial near the end of April. According to court records, 32-year-old Nicholas Russell Pickering, who has also reported residence in Carroll, filed a written not guilty plea to the class C felony charge. Pickering was arrested Nov. 24, 2020 as a result of a traffic stop for driving with a suspended license. A Carroll Police Department affidavit says K9 Eudoris alerted to the presence of narcotics in his vehicle. Officers conducted a probable cause search and located multiple baggies containing methamphetamine along with other narcotic-related equipment. His jury trial is slated to begin Tuesday, April 27 with a pretrial conference on April 19. Pickering faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines if found guilty of the charge.
