DMACC Nursing Club Is Asking For Donations To Create Memorial For Professor’s Child

The Carroll chapter of the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Student Nursing Club will be initiating a fundraiser for a professor and her family on Wednesday, March 17. The online auction and raffle is to benefit the family of Levi Friesen, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of two this past Jan. 4. Levi is survived by his parents, Professor Teresa Friesen and Corey Friesen as well as his three-year-old sister, Santana, all of Carroll. The money raised will be used to create and place a permanent memorial honoring Levi at Kellan’s Kingdom all-inclusive playground, a place that Levi enjoyed tremendously. The club is asking for donations that can be raffled and sold online, whether it is a gift card from a local business, a gift basket, service coupon, piece of clothing or some other special item. Cash is welcome as well. There is a short window yet to get these items in before the sales and auction begin Wednesday, but those interested can use the contact information included below to make a donation. The raffle and online auction will run from Wednesday through Sunday, April 10 and more information can be found on the club’s Facebook page, a link to which is also included here.
