Norma Maxine Jentzen, age 92, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at her home in Carroll surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll with Pastor Ryan Roehrig officiating. Organist for the service will be Abe Batten and soloist will be Bree Roehrig. Burial will be in the Arcadia Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Friday where there will be a prayer service held at 6:30 P.M. The casket will be moved to the church at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M.
Those in attendance at Norma’s visitation and funeral service are asked to abide by Covid-19 guidelines and facemasks are required at the funeral home and at the church.

Norma was born on August 20, 1928, in Manning, IA, and she was the daughter of Frank and Nora (Jensen) Musfeldt. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Manning High School. Following high school she worked for a local dress shop and managed the Manning V.F.W. She was married to Alvin Jentzen on October 15, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia, IA. The couple made their home on the Jentzen family farm south of Arcadia. Alvin passed away on May 28, 1975 and Norma continued to live on the farm until moving to Carroll in 1980. Norma worked at Don’s Place, Pella Windows, and the Vogue dress shop. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Norma was an avid golfer and had many good times at the Carroll Municipal Golf Course. Norma won the Carroll City Tournament in 1993. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, drawing, calligraphy, flower arranging, crocheting, garage sales, and most of all spending time with her family. Norma was an avid sports fan watching basketball, football, and golf; knowing all the players and coaches by name.
Norma is survived by a son Jim Jentzen (Judy Crabb) of Waukee; a daughter Jeanne Jentzen – Holmes (Merle) of Carroll; two grandchildren: Steffany Jentzen of Des Moines and Tracy Scheid (Donny) of Pueblo, CO; two great-grandchildren: Wyatt and Chase Scheid of Pueblo, CO; a sister-law Melva Musfeldt of Phoenix, AZ; her step-grandchildren: Dorian Aldag-Bird (Billy) of Carroll and their children: Alexx and Zach, Kristy Pomrenke (Jason) of Ankeny and their children: Jenna, Cole, and Jayda; Julie Bruning (Brian) and their children Ellie and Max of Beemer, NE; and several nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Nora Musfeldt; her father and mother-in-law Otto and Helena Jentzen; her husband Alvin in 1975; two brothers: Melvin Musfeldt and George Musfeldt (Gladys); and a sister Helen Brady (Glen).
