More than 300 customers on the north side of Carroll were without power for over an hour Wednesday night. According to MidAmerican Energy spokesperson, Geoff Greenwood, the outage was first reported at approximately 8:26 p.m. and stretched north to the 16000 block of U.S. Highway 71, south to the 1800 block of Crestview Drive, west to the 20000 block of 170th Street and east to the 2000 block of North Randall Road. In total, 326 customers were affected. Greenwood says crews identified the source of the problem as a downed tree limb on overhead power lines near the intersection of 30th Street and North Grant Road. Power was fully restored to all customers at approximately 9:40 p.m.
