Landus Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

It has now been five years since Farmers’ Cooperative and West Central merged, forming Landus, Iowa’s largest agricultural cooperative. They officially marked the anniversary date on Thursday, April 1 with a look back at the milestones reached over the past half decade. These include: facility updates at many locations, with major renovations at Ralston and Rake; the opening of the Beef Feed Center in Jefferson; launch of a Landus-branded soybean seed, AcreEdge; agronomy fleet upgrades, the introduction of a customer portal and mobile app; and a record setting soybean crush at the SoyPlus manufacturing plant. Even during the pandemic, Landus has continued with an “unprecedented pace of advancement” “This past year has presented many challenges for our employees and farmer-owners, from a global pandemic to extreme weather events like the drought and derecho […],” says President and CEO, Matt Carstens. “Through it all, we managed to achieve our first year of profitability, evolve the way we go to market and establish the building blocks for future innovations. I’m proud of where we’ve been and even more excited about where we are going.”
