If all goes as planned with the 2021 Iowa Legislative session ending in mid-April, our local legislators will hold the final forum of the season April 10. Carroll Chamber of Commerce Program Director, Ashley Schable, says the necessary changes during the pandemic for these events have actually worked out well.

More questions have come in each time, with about 15 of those answered during the one-hour forums. Schable says the anonymity factor of being able to email questions to chamber@carrolliowa.com before the event has likely played a small role in more contributions. District 12 House Representative, Brian Best, and District 6 Senator, Craig Williams, will be live at the streamed event on April 10 that is viewable on CAAT 6 or on the City of Carroll’s YouTube channel.

Details for viewing are included below. Schable says they are looking forward to one of their most fun annual events coming back in 2021. Registration is open for the June 5, 6th annual Color Fun Run/Walk 5K at Swan Lake.

There are a couple of color zone sponsorships available and volunteers are welcome. More information is available by calling the Chamber by using the phone number below. Special t-shirts are included in early registration and there will be registration the day of the event as well.

Schable says they are also pleased to have scheduled the date for the annual Ag Golf Outing for Friday, Aug. 6. The committee will be meeting soon to finalize plans for the event at the Carroll Municipal Golf Course. She says it is a great outing that represents and thanks those in the ag industry with prizes, lunch, dinner and other fun activities. They also raise money for their annual ag scholarships. More details will be released as soon as plans are finalized.
