A special sporting clay shooting event will be held in mid-April in Polk City. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will host the event from April 16 through April 18 at Olofson Shooting Range. The 100-round sporting clay course will go through the prairie and woods and will feature different clay targets that represent rabbits, quail, waterfowl and pheasant. Cost is $40 per person with openings all three days from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Registration can be done through the contact point included below. The range will remain open those days with all of the usual offerings.
