Both Vehicles Disabled With Only Minor Injuries Reported In Head-On Collision Wednesday In Carroll

Only minor injuries were reported in a head-on accident Wednesday afternoon in Carroll that left both vehicles disabled. The Carroll Police Department was dispatched to the scene of the accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Le Clark Road at approximately 4:26 p.m. According to an initial investigation, a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Theresa Barkhaus of Arcadia, was traveling eastbound on 30. A westbound 2021 Ford F150, driven by 88-year-old George Koithan, was attempting to turn left onto a frontage road and collided with the front of the oncoming vehicle. A passenger in the Barkhaus SUV sustained injuries to their arm and was transported by private vehicle to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for treatment. Koithan was cited for failure to yield on a left turn.
