The Carroll Girls looked strong with all six golfers shooting 56 or below and their top four scores under 48. Kuemper found a starting point for a very inexperienced team that should be able to grow as the season goes on. The Knights played with four girls on Thursday and had two girls under 63. The Tigers won the match 177 to 267.
Laura Sweeney bounded back from a double bogey on Hole 4 and shot 2 under par over the last 4 holes including nifty chip-ins on 6 and 9. She led all scorers with a 39 and was the Medalist. Grace Pettitt who Sweeney praised for helping her remain focused after the first few holes was runner-up medalist with a 43. Kenna Soppe paced the Knights with a 56 and was felt she chipped the ball well but wants to improve her drive. Abby Nees of Kuemper also played with Sopper, Sweeney and Pettitt finished 2nd for Kuemper with a 62.

The Titans came away with a 9 stroke win to open the season with a win on the road. South Central Calhoun had three golfers shoot under a 69 led and claimed Medalist honors. East Sac had three golfers shoot 66 or better and had Runner-Up Medalilst honors. Holes 7, 8 and 9 were the difference as the Titans outshot the Raiders by 14 strokes on those holes combined.
Sayer Steig of South Central Calhoun finished with Medalist honors shooting a 53. Emma Anderson of South Central Calhoun with a 62. Allison Storkes was very consistent for the Titans and had a 68. Sidney Bieret led the Raiders with a 60 and was Runner-Up Medalist, Lexi Thomsen added a 65 and Cianna Johnson added a 66.
