A Jefferson juvenile has been charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief following an investigation into damage to the Doreen Wilbur statue. The Greene County Recreation Center contacted law enforcement on March 19 to report someone had snapped off several arrows. Officers reviewed video evidence from nearby buildings and identified the vandal as a 12-year-old Jefferson male. The minor was cited with the aggravated misdemeanor charge and released back into the custody of his guardians. The case has been forwarded to the juvenile courts.
