Seven Girls Track Teams Competed on Thursday

Kuemper at Bob Guhin East Invite

 

The Kuemper Knights participated in the 2021 Bob Guhin East track invite at Sioux City East and finished with eight top five finishes on Thursday. 

 

Megan Scott finished in fifth place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.84. Scott was also part of the 4X100 relay team, along with Kailee Sturm, Macy Blum, and Catherine Mayhall, that took home fourth place with a time of 55.51. Kenzie Schon performed well in the throwing event, placing fourth in discus with a throw of 95-03.50 and first in the shot put with a throw of 37-04.00. 

 

Grace C Hoffman got another top three finish for the Knights, finishing in third place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:15.20. Hoffman also participated in the distance medley relay, along with Mayhall, Kerrigan Irlbeck, and Brooklyn Gifford, that took third place with a time of 5:07.10. Kuemper’s shuttle hurdle team, consisting of Jemma Hoffman, Tori Ellis, Hanna Brincks, and Daisy Haukap, finished in fifth place with a time of 1:28.56.

Carroll at Tri-Center

 

The Carroll Tigers tied for first place with Trynor at Thursday’s track meet at Tri-Center. The Tigers finished their successful day with eight first place finishes and one second place finish. 

 

Shay Sinnard was part of two first place relay teams and won two solo events. Sinnard won the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.47 and the long jump with a jump of 16-01.50. Along with Alex Klein, Hannah Jorgensen, and Libby Perkins, Sinnard was part of the 4X100 team that placed first with a time of 53.26 and the 4X200 team, along with Brenna Goins, Jorgensen, and Perkins, that also finished in first place with a time of 1:53.72. 

 

Klein was part of the distance medley team, along with Josie Ayala, Ava Gross, and Marie Dea, that won the event with a time of 4:52.06. Dea also won the 3000 meter run with a time of 12:11.46. Jorgensen finished in first place in the 200 meter dash with a final time of 27.98. Madison Tunning won the 100 meter hurdle event finishing with a time of 18.13.

East Sac and South Central Calhoun at Manson NW Webster

 

East Sac and South Central Calhoun competed at the Emily Markert Coed track meet Thursday. East Sac finished the day in eleventh place with 31 team points. South Central Calhoun finished the day in ninth place with 33 team points. The Raiders finished the day with four top five finishes, where one of their relay teams finished in second. The Titans would walk home with four top five finishes as well.

 

East Sac’s shuttle hurdle team, consisting of Meredith Brown, Hannah Pudenz, Kenna Meyer, and Olivia Blum, finished in second place with a time of 1:17.61. The Distance Medley team, made up of Brown, Brooke Jergens, Emma Schroeder, and Mary Bontrager finished in fourth place with a time of 4:49.87. The other top five relay finish for East Sac was the 4X100 team, consisting of Pudenz, Jergens, Brown, and Blum, that finished in fourth place with a time of 54.38. Schroeder grabbed a third place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:42.22. 

 

South Central Calhoun’s shuttle hurdle team, consisting of Olivia Toms, Claire Riat, Lilly Kalous, and Kortney Riley finished in fourth place with a time of 1:20.50. The Titans finished in fourth place in the 4X200 relay, consisting of Toms, Laura Greene, Taylor Greene, and Jade Ridgely, with a time of 1:59.02. Laura Greene grabbed a third place finish in the long jump with a jump of 14-05.25. Ridgely finished in fourth place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.96.

Audubon, Glidden-Ralston, and Paton Churdan at AC-GC Lady Charger Invitational

 

Audubon, Glidden-Ralston, and Paton Churdan were all part of the AC-GC Lady Charger Invitational track meet Thursday. Audubon finished in second place in the team standings with 104 team points, behind meet winners ACGC with 123 points. Glidden-Ralston finished in ninth place with 48 team points. Paton Churdan finished in twelfth place with 16 team points. 

 

Audubon’s relay teams on the day got four top two finishes. The team of Abigail Zaiger, Mattie Nielsen, Madison Steckler, and Hannah Thygesen won the sprint medley event with a time of 1:59.68 and finished in second place in the 4X400 relay with a time of 4:24.95. The 4X800 team, consisting of Audrey Jensen, Kodie Sporrer, Jordan Porsch, and Grace Slater, finished in second place with a time of 11:10.35. Audubon’s shuttle hurdle team, consisting of Steckler, Mattie Nielsen, Madison Burr, and Katelyn Nielsen, won the event with a time of 1:14.31. Katelyn Nielsen also got a second place finish in the long jump with a jump of 15-05.00. Elizabeth Zaiger won the discus event with a throw of 102-07.

 

Vanessa Koehler finished her day with three top two finishes. Koehler finished in second place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.09 and the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.98, and first in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.56. Tiela Jansen got second place in the 400 meter dash for Glidden-Ralston, finishing with a time of 1:09.42. 

 

Danielle Hoyle of Paton Churdan excelled in the throwing events, finishing in second place in the discus with a throw of 101-03 and shot put with a throw of 36-05.00. Paton Churdan’s other top eight finish was when Zoey Dickson finished in eighth place in the long jump with a jump of 13-10.00.
