SUV Damages Pole And Truck After Unexpectedly Shifting Gears During Jumpstart

A utility pole and pickup truck were damaged after an SUV unexpectedly shifted into reverse while being jumpstarted Thursday afternoon. At approximately 1:26 p.m., the Jefferson Police Department responded to the scene in the 100 block of N. Walnut Street. Authorities say a 1997 Ford Expedition, operated by Krystal Miller, began moving after it had been started and collided with the pole and a nearby 2004 Ford F150, owned by Robert Fredrickson. Miller was cited for failure to hold financial liability coverage.
