Audubon and SCC Girls Golf Team Victorious Friday, Kuemper Falls to Greene County

The Audubon Wheelers played well Friday against Treynor, nabbing a team victory and runner-up medalist honors. The Wheelers won the meet with a team score of 209 compared to Treynor’s 216. All four of Audubon’s golfers scored in the low to mid 50s. 

 

Sydney Beymer for the Wheelers finished her day tied with teammate Allison Elmquist with a score of 51. Beymer was awarded runner-up medalist honors over Elmquist in a tiebreaker. Maddie Lewis of Treynor was awarded medalist honors as she scored 43. Kali Irlmeier was one stroke off of Beymer and Elquist getting a 52 on the day. Madison Vorm stayed close to her teammates scoring a 55 on the day. Audubon Girls Head Golf Coach Paul Lynch says he was happy with how his golfers played Friday and noted Elmquist, Irlmeier, and Vorm all shot personal bests nine holes scores at this meet.

Kuemper at Greene County

The Kuemper Knights were in action Friday against Greene County where they saw one of their golfers receive medalist honors. Kuemper finished the day with 251 points compared to Greene County’s 244. 

 

Abby Nees on the day shot a 49, good enough to be awarded medalist honors. Kenna Soppe was a few strokes behind Nees ending the day with a score of 53. Kara Daniel and Grace Tigges both wrapped up their days with good experience for the rest of the season. Daniel finished with a score of 70 while Tigges finished with a 79.

South Central Calhoun at St. Edmond

 

Team Standings

  1. South Central Calhoun 242

  2. St. Edmond 284

 

The South Central Calhoun Titans had a productive meet Friday against St. Edmond, winning both medalists honors and winning the meet as a team. The Titans ended the meet with a final score of 242 compared to St. Edmond’s score of 284. Two golfers for the Wheelers ended their day tied in the high 50s while the other two who contributed to the team score tied as well in the low 60s. 

 

Mia Babcock and Allison Stokes were able to tie with each other, ending the day with 59s. Babcock ended up with medalist honors and Stokes took home runner-up medalist honors based off a tiebreaker on hole one. Sayer Steig and Macy Macke were the other Wheelers who rounded out the scoring for the Wheelers, both ending their days with a score of 62.
