Manning Regional Healthcare Center has welcomed a new Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) to their staff. Samantha Quelland will be initially covering for Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C), Courtney Rupiper who is on maternity leave, and then will fill the opening that will occur when ARNP, Hope Jensen, leaves the Family Practice Clinic. Quelland says her career started from the relationships she built as a CNA in a nursing home. “As I progressed in my career as a nurse, working in the OR, I really missed having those patient relationships. It was then I decided to continue on to become a family nurse practitioner. This position allows me to get to know my patients and take care of them throughout their life,” she says. Quelland, who is originally from Van Meter had been residing in Des Moines prior to her move to Manning. She says getting back to a small-town community was appealing to her and her six-year-old son. “I’m excited about getting to know everybody here and to be able to provide that continuum of care for patients (from infants to the elderly), watching them grow and being able to impact patients over the long term,” Quelland says.
