The Kuemper Knights played physically from start to finish, but were unable to get past Perry Friday night. 

 

Kuemper and Perry went back and forth in the first half, allowing 20 minutes to pass before a goal was scored. Perry ultimately got on the board first with a header goal, making it 1-0. Perry continued to score in the first half, taking advantage of an open net to make it 2-0 and sailed a shot over John Mayhall’s head to make it 3-0. Perry came out of the first half with a 3-0 lead. 

 

Eight seconds into the second half, Perry pushed forward with another goal, making it 4-0. Kuemper stepped up in the second half, getting more physical and scored some goals. Max Burnett scored with 21:55 left in the game cutting down the Perry lead to 4-1. Perry responded with a crossbar goal, extending their lead to 5-1. Burnett once again gave the Knights a goal with 14:01 left to play down 5-2. Kuemper was able to push the ball down field a few more times, but Perry was right there with them. Perry ran out the clock and won 5-2. 

 

Individually for the Knights, Max Burnett scored both of Kuemper’s goals with assists coming from Simon Wagner and Tommy Fitzsimmons. John Mayhall defended the ball well, recording 12 saves on the day. Kuemper falls to 2-3 on the season as Perry improves to 1-7. Kuemper is in action next when they take on Carroll on Monday, April 26th.

ADM at Carroll

The Carroll Tigers played a tough 80 minutes against the ADM Tigers Friday. The ADM Tigers started off the contest strong with two goals in the first half with 28:48 left to play. ADM pushed the ball down field again and scored one minute later, making it 3-0 with 27:17 left to play in the first half. Carroll gathered themselves after that goal and did well defending, keeping ADM at bay for the time being. ADM found the back of the net once more in the first half via a penalty kick, making it 4-0 with five minutes left in the half. Carroll had three good looks in the first half, but were unable to capitalize on those chances. 

 

Carroll’s defensive strategy kept ADM from scoring any quick goals in the beginning of the second half. ADM eventually scored again with a rebound shot making it 5-0 with 24:30 left to play. Deng Nyock of Carroll had a good look later on in the half, but his shot banked off the side of the goal post, keeping the game at 5-0 in favor of ADM. The remaining 3:30 ticked away, giving ADM the 5-0 victory over Carroll. 

 

Individually for Carroll, Nolan Mohr finished the match with 14 saves. Of Carroll’s 10 shots on goal, Treyton Goins had three of those shots on goal. Carroll falls to 1-5 on the season as ADM improves to 6-2. The Carroll Tigers are in action next when they go up against Kuemper on Monday, April 26th.
