The Kuemper Knights had a slow first half, and fast paced second half as they defeated Creston Thursday night. The Knights were able to play the majority of the first half on Creston’s side of the field, but goals were limited. The Knights got on the board with 18:55 left in the first half making it 1-0. The score stood for the remainder of the first half.

The Knights improved dramatically, scoring the remaining five goals of the game in the second half. With 30 seconds off the board, the Knights scored making it 2-0. The Knights struggled at times to score goals when they had good looks on Creston’s side of the field. It took nearly 15 minutes for the Knights to get on the board again. In three minutes, the Knights scored four goals making it 6-0. The Knights kept that score for the remainder of the contest, winning the game 6-0. 

 

Individually for the Knights, Kenya Prescott scored an impressive five goals. Karly Baumhover contributed well as she had one goal and two assists. Meredith Friedrichsen, Jordyn Schulte, and Kiley Feilmeier finished with two assists each. Lauren Boell defended the net well finishing with seven saves. The Knights improve to 4-5 on the season as Creston falls to 0-5.

 

The Knights are in action next when they take on LoMa in Carroll on Friday, April 30th.

Sioux City West at East Sac

East Sac: 0

 

The East Sac Raiders lost to Sioux City West in a tough contest Thursday. 

 

Sioux City West started off the first half with two goals against the Raiders. Aleisha Thayer for the Raiders was a big support on the defensive end. She ended the contest with 12 saves. In the second half, Sioux City West added to their lead with two more goals. East Sac would end their night with two shots on goal, but was unable to find the back of the net. The Raiders were defeated 4-0.

 

The Raiders fall to 4-3 on the season as Sioux City West improves to 3-5. The Raiders are in action next when they travel to West Sioux on Tuesday, April 27th.
