Carroll Woman Arrested Following Oct. 5 Firearm Incident At Fairview Apartments Sentenced Thursday

A Carroll woman arrested following an Oct. 5, 2020 incident involving firearms at the Fairview Village Apartments was sentenced Thursday on weapons charges. Twenty-eight-year-old Glennisha Janancy Myers was originally charged with assault while using a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor, for displaying a pistol during a dispute with 30-year-old Kamille Garnett of Carroll in the 500 block of E. 18th Street. Myers reached an agreement with prosecutors and pled guilty to a lesser charge, carrying a handgun without a permit. In exchange for her plea, a two-year prison sentence was suspended, and Myers was placed on probation for two years nearly $1,000 in fines and surcharges were also suspended. Garnett is currently awaiting trial in Carroll County District Court on multiple charges connected to the incident: intimidations with a dangerous weapon, a class C felony; going armed with intent and controlled substance violations, class D felonies; and assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and child endangerment; aggravated misdemeanors. Both women were involved in an Oct. 14 shooting incident at Fairview that resulted in four arrests.
