A Carroll man arrested for his involvement in a November motor vehicle break-in was sentenced last week in Carroll County District Court. Nineteen-year-old Charles James Rowland pled guilty to third-degree burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor, after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors. In lieu of incarceration, he was placed on probation for two years and ordered to pay over $4,000 in fines, surcharges, court costs and victim restitution. Rowland’s request for a deferred judgement was granted, meaning court records regarding the case will be expunged upon successful completion of his probation. Charges are pending against two other individuals arrested in connection to the Nov. 5 incident: 19-year-old Dalton Lee Andrew Maples and 18-year-old Austin Lee Wheeler, both of Carroll.
