Lake View City Council Updates Camp Crescent Policies As They Prepare For Another Busy Season

Lake View city officials have updated several polices at Camp Crescent as they prepare for what is anticipated to be a very busy season at the popular camping destination. Administrator, Scott Peterson, says reservations are already nearly full for their most popular weekends

Those weekends include Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day. According to Peterson, the 2020 season was far busier than expected with the campground filled with campers on a near daily basis. He says this often led to space issues due to the large number of vehicles parked at the various sites. The city council approved a policy change at their meeting last week that aims to address this issue.

The council has also received several requests to open Camp Crescent to golf cart traffic. Following lengthy discussion on the topic, Peterson says the council has decided to leave their policy barring golf carts in place.

Camp Crescent had a record setting season during 2020 in both in attendance and total revenues. Based on the interest in the campground so far, Peterson says it is possible they could see the same or even higher numbers this year.
