St. Anthony Regional Hospital has received three 2021 Women’s Choice Awards as one of America’s best hospitals for obstetrics, patient satisfaction and emergency care. “As healthcare workers, we make a strong commitment to provide the best care to our patients,” says President and CEO, Ed Smith. “We are very proud to celebrate the acknowledgement of our excellent service, especially after all the challenges we’ve overcome during the pandemic.” St. Anthony is one of 408 award recipients for meeting the highest obstetrical standards in the U.S. and is in the top six percent of 4,542 hospitals. They are one of 400 for patient experience, ranking seventh out of 1,071 hospitals in their size classification and is in the top nine percent as one of the 477 hospitals out of 4,542 to receive the award for emergency care. “Hospital choice is a critical decision, particularly for women, who make over 80 percent of healthcare decisions, and providing a great experience for her throughout her patient journey is a win-win for all involved,” says founder and CEO of the Women’s Choice Awards, Delia Passi. “This designation makes it easier for her to choose a hospital where she and her family are more likely to have a better experience and outcome.” The awards are determined by combining national accreditations, Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey results and hospital outcome scores with primary research about women’s healthcare preferences. This data is used to create a weighted average and awards are presented to the best hospitals.
