10 Area Boys Track Teams Compete Tuesday

Kuemper at North Polk

 

The Kuemper Knights finished in fifth place at the 2021 North Polk Boys Track Invite Tuesday. Kuemper wrapped up the day with five top five finishes and finished with 22 team points. North Polk won the meet with 173 team points.

 

Christopher Mohr finished in fifth place in the discus event with a throw of 111-09. Benjamin Gerken finished the long jump in fourth place with a jump of 18-11.50. The 4X100 team, consisting of Gerken, Garrett Christensen, AJ Domer, and Tanner Higby, finished in fifth place with a time of 48.97. Christensen and Higby were also part of the Distance Medley team, along with Max Meyers and Michael Pottebaum, that finished in third place with a time of 3:54.88. Higby, Christensen, Pottebaum, and Logan Sibenaller were part of the Sprint Medley team that finished in third place with a time of 1:41.37.

Carroll, East Sac, and South Central Calhoun at Manson NW Webster

 

Carroll, East Sac, and South Central Calhoun all competed Tuesday at the Manson NW Webster boys invitational track meet. Carroll finished the best in the team standings among the area teams, finishing in third place with 102 team points. East Sac finished behind them in fourth place with 56 team points. South Central Calhoun finished in sixth place with 41 team points. Each team finished in first or second place in at least one event.

 

Ryan North of Carroll won both solo distance events, the 1600 with a time of 5:09.54, and the 3200 with a time of 11:02.96. Tyson Bordenaro finished in second place in the discus event with a throw of 113-02. Carroll’s 4X400 and Shuttle Hurdle teams took home first place finishes. The 4X400 team, consisting of Colby Christensen, Remy Richardson, Abe Drikx, and Zach Dirkx, finished with a time of 3:35.36. The Shuttle Hurdle team, consisting of Christensen, Richardson, Haven Muggenberg, and Jack Troutman, finished with a time of 1:09.54. Carroll’s Sprint Medley team, consisting of Christenen, Abe Dirkx, Cade Schable, and Zach Dirkx, finished in second place with a time of 1:40.77.

 

CJ Frank of East Sac finished in second place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 59.64 and third place in the long jump with a jump of 18-11.50. Frank was also part of the shuttle hurdle team, along with Alex Hauser, Cole Babe, and Ace Thelen, that finished in second place with a time of 1:09.68. Justin Rupnow finished in second place in the shot put event with a throw of 39-02.00.

 

Cole Corey of South Central Calhoun finished his day with three first place finishes in solo events. He won high jump with a jump of 6-02.00, long jump with a jump of 19-09.50, and the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.95.

Paton Churdan and Glidden Ralston, at Woodward Granger

 

Glidden Ralston and Paton Churdan participated in the 2021 Woodward Granger Eagle Invite Tuesday. Glidden Ralston finished the meet in third place with 96 team points. Paton Churdan finished in fifth place with 32 team points. 

 

Brigham Daniel of Glidden Ralston had a successful individual day, winning three events. He won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.06, the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.73, and the 400 meter dash with a time of 53.87. The Wildcat’s distance medley team, consisting of Tyler Brant, Bryson Ertz, Carter Soyer, and Emmett Snyder, won with a winning time of 4:09.07. Glidden Ralston’s 4X400 team, consisting of Bennett Janning, Ertz, Snyder, and Soyer, finished in second place with a time of 4:03.69. Soyer and Snyder both had second place finishes in individual events. Soyer finished the 400 meter hurdles event with a time of 1:05.06, and Snyder finished the 800 meter run with a time of 2:16.97. 

 

Bradyn Smith of Paton Churdan finished in second place in the discus event with a throw of 120-09. Forest Thompson finished in third place in the 1600 meter run event with a time of 5:30.74. Thompson and Smith, along with Riley Cullum and Connor Brus, finished in third place in the Distance Medley Relay with a time of 4:27.11.

Coon Rapids Bayard, Ar-We-Va and IKM-Manning at Audubon

 

Coon Rapids Bayard, Ar-We-Va, IKM-Manning, and Audubon all competed at the newly named Bob Clark Relays at Audubon Tuesday. IKM-Manning wrapped up the day in fifth place with 64 team points, followed by Audubon in sixth with 54 points, and Coon Rapids Bayard in seventh with 31 points. Ar-We-Va finished in 10th place with six team points. Underwood won the event, finishing the meet with 123 team points.

 

Quentin Dreyer of IKM-Manning finished top two in three individual events that he ran. He finished in second place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:07.34 and 1600 meter run with a time of 4:41.77. Dreyer won the 3200 meter run with a winning time of 10:32.35. IKM-Manning’s Distance Medley team, consisting of Cooper Irlmeier, Justin Segebart, Hunter Smith, and Akim Duot, won the event with a time of 4:05.17. 

 

Gavin Smith of Audubon won his two individual events and was part of two relay teams. Smith won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.25 and the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.17. Smith was part of the 4X400 relay team, along with Joel and Ethan Klocke, and Matthew Beisswenger, that finished in second place with a time of 3:41.80, and the Shuttle Hurdle team, along with Joel and Ethan Klocke and Brandon Jensen, that finished in second place with a time of 1:03.83. 

 

Coon Rapids Bayard had two relay teams finish in the top two. The Crusader’s 4X200 team, made up of Easton Hays, Omarion Floyd, Tanner Oswald, and Gabe Obert, won the event with a winning time of 1:36.00. Those same athletes were also part of the 4X100 relay where they would finish in second place with a time of 46.59. 

 

Ar-We-Va’s Cooper Kock finished in the top five in his individual events. Kock finished in fifth place in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.55. He then finished in fourth place in the high jump with a time of 6-00.00.
