Carroll High Wins in Double Overtime as Kuemper Defeats Panorama Tuesday; East Sac Falls to West Sioux

The Kuemper Knights scored often in the first half and cruised in the second in their victory against Panorama Tuesday. The Knights got on the board often in the first half, taking a 5-0 lead at halftime. Four different Knights got goals in this game. Simon Wagner and Max Burnett got two goals as John Mayhall and Sam Steinkamp finished the game with one goal each. 

 

Kuemper and Panorama traded goals in the second half, but the Knights ran out the clock, and ran away with a 6-1 victory. In this contest, Noah Bauer took the place of Mayhall at the goalie position and did well, getting five saves. Evan Bakke aided in the Knights efforts, getting an assist. Wagner also got an assist in this contest. The Knights improve to 4-3 on the season as Panorama falls to 2-4.  Kuemper is in action next when they welcome Greene County to the fieldhouse on Thursday, April 29th.

The Carroll Tigers went to a two overtime war against the Boone Toreadors Tuesday. The Tigers got on the board first when Deng Nyock scored two goals, one at the 32:06 mark in the first half, and the other at the 31:03 mark of the first half. Boone would respond with two goals of their own to tie it up at halftime. 

 

That two goal tie stood for the entirety of the second half, and the first overtime. Treyton Goins had a monster night defending the goal. He finished the night with 26 saves in goal and five saves outside the goalie box. In the second overtime, Carroll’s unsung hero was freshman Jack Friel who drilled a shot from 20 yards out on the right side of the Boone goal into the left corner, ending the game in a Carroll victory 3-2. 

 

Individually for the Tigers, Deng Nyock finished with two goals as Jack Friel had one goal. Treyton Goins had 26 saves on the night. The Tigers improve to 2-6 on the season as Boone falls to 0-9. The Tigers are in action next when they welcome East Sac to town on Thursday, April 29th.

The East Sac Raiders fell to West Sioux in their overtime contest Tuesday. West Sioux got on the board first with a goal before halftime. East Sac was able to get on the board in the second half thanks to Elias Aragon who scored a goal with 3:30 left to play in regulation. In overtime, West Sioux was able to end the game with a shot within the first two minutes of overtime, winning 2-1. 

 

Individually for East Sac, Elias Aragon had the lone goal for the Raiders as Nick Crabb had nine saves in goal. West Sioux Improves to 3-4 on the season as East Sac falls to 0-7. The Raiders are in action next when they take on the Carroll Tigers at Carroll on Thursday, April 29th.
