Jefferson Man Tased After Becoming Aggressive With Greene County Deputy Early Sunday Morning

A Greene County deputy was forced to use his Taser in an altercation with an intoxicated individual early Sunday morning. The Jefferson Police Department reports a patrolling officer noticed a subject standing near the door to the closed HyVee store at approximately 12:33 a.m. The officer attempted to speak to the male and he walked away, refusing to stop or reply. The officer requested assistance from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and deputies responded to the scene as well. They caught up to the male, 42-year-old Timothy Dale Sullivan of Jefferson, at Locust and Reed Streets and approached him again. Sullivan became aggressive toward a deputy and the deputy responded by deploying his Taser. Sullivan was arrested and charged with public intoxication and interference with official acts, both simple misdemeanors.
