A Lake City man arrested earlier this year on drug trafficking charges has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. According to Carroll County District Court records, 33-year-old Nicholas Russell Pickering was indicted in February for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a class C felony, and again in April on an identical count from a separate incident. Authorities allege drugs and narcotic-related equipment were found in his vehicle during a Nov. 24 traffic stop in Carroll. He was arrested Feb. 17 on an outstanding warrant and had narcotics, baggies and a scale with him at the time. As part of his agreement with prosecutors, the charges will be combined into a single court case, and Pickering will plead guilty to first-offense possession of methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor. A hearing to accept his plea is scheduled for Tuesday, June 1
