Kuemper and Audubon Girls Tennis Teams Find Success in Tuesday’s Matches

Kuemper Girls at Harlan

The Kuemper girls tennis team got a great team sweep Tuesday against Harlan. All six individual players and three doubles teams won their matches and won the meet nine matches to zero. 

 

Vanessa Breedlove did well in her individual and doubles matches. She won her singles match 8-0 and teamed up with Alyssa Brant in doubles, where they won 8-1. Brant only dropped two games in her singles match, winning 8-2. Samantha Tidgren played a great match only dropping one game and winning 8-1 overall. Tidgren played with Jordan Schwabe in doubles where they won 8-1. Schwabe’s day went well in her singles match where she won 8-2. 

 

Sophie Rohe stayed strong in her singles match where she dropped three games, but ultimately won 8-3. In doubles, Rohe and Keziah Janssen had some work to do but they ended up winning 8-4. Janssen’s singles match went similarly, where they dropped four matches but won 8-4.

Samantha Tidgren of Kuemper won 8-1 over Liz Devine of Harlan

Jordan Schwabe of Kuemper won 8-2 over Alli Owens of Harlan

Alyssa Brant of Kuemper won 8-2 over Josie Knudsen of Harlan

Vanessa Breedlove of Kuemper won 8-0 over Casey Kohl of Harlan

Keziah Janssen of Kuemper won 8-4 over Grace Coenen of Harlan

Sophie Rohe of Kuemper won 8-3 over Erica Rust of Harlan

 

Doubles

 

Samantha Tidgren and Jordan Schwabe of Kuemper won 8-1 over Liz Devine and Josie Knudsen of Harlan

Alyssa Brant and Vanessa Breedlove of Kuemper won 8-1 over Alli Owens and Casey Kohl of Harlan

Keziah Janssen and Sophie Rohe of Kuemper won 8-4 over Grace Coenen and Erica Rust of Harlan

 

Audubon at SW Valley

Audubon had an uphill battle to conquer, but they came out victorious Tuesday against Southwest Valley. The Wheelers finished the day, winning four matches and losing two in singles and winning two matches and losing one in doubles. 

 

Kya Petersena and Aleah Hermansen went 2-0 on the day individually, winning their singles matches and their doubles matches. Petersen had a close singles match and came out victorious eight games to five. Hermansen met a good challenger in her singles match where she won 8-4. In their doubles match, Petersen and Hermansen were brought into extra games, but they wrapped the match up with a 9-7 win in the end. Rachel Heuss was victorious in her singles match where she won by a close margin 8-6. Sophia Sebetka rounded out the singles victories for the Wheelers where she won 8-2. 

The other Wheeler Doubles team that was victorious was Jill Denny and Kennedy Rohe. Both were unsuccessful in their singles match, but found their groove in doubles. The duo won their match eight games to five. The Wheelers won the overall meet by a match total of 6-3.

Rachel Heuss of Audubon won 8-6 over Alana Drake of Southwest Valley

Charlee Larsen of Southwest Valley won 8-1 over Jill Denny of Audubon

Sophia Sebetka of Audubon won 8-2 over Lexi Weston of Southwest Valley

Ryanne Mullen of Southwest Valley won 8-4 over Kennedy Rohe of Audubon
