Kuemper and East Sac Boys Soccer Teams Fall Thursday

Kuemper at Glenwood

The Kuemper Knights season continued Thursday as they went up against Glenwood. The Glenwood Rams would get out to a 2-0 lead in the first half and not allow Kuemper to score. The Knights were down 2-0 at halftime and looked to see what they could tweak in the second half to score. 

 

Glenwood continued to play well into the second half and added three goals to their lead, making it 5-0. Kuemper was unable to find the back of the net as they fell to Glenwood 5-0. 

 

Noah Bauer for the Knights had a good night defending the net recording 11 saves. The Knights fall to 6-6 on the season as Glenwood improves to 7-6. The Knights will compete Saturday, May 11th at the Nevada Tournament. Their first round opponent will be Des Moines Hoover.

East Sac at Fort Dodge

East Sac: 0

 

The East Sac Raiders continued to learn and grow this season as they fell to Fort Dodge Thursday night. The Raiders in the first half did a good job of keeping Fort Dodge on their toes and away from the net. Fort Dodge eventually got on the board with a goal. The Raiders kept pace with the Dodgers and left the first half down 1-0. 

 

In the second half, the Dodgers got on the board with two own goals by East Sac, a penalty kick, and a goal all in the second half. The Dodgers continued to play strong until the final buzzer, eventually winning the game 5-0. 

 

Individually for East Sac, Goalie Luke Wernimont played well defensively recording 28 saves in the match. East Sac falls to 0-11 on the season as Fort Dodge improves to 1-9 on the season. East Sac is in action next when they welcome Humboldt to Wall Lake on Tuesday, May 11th.
