Carroll and East Sac Boys Soccer Fall on Friday

Boys Soccer Results Friday, May 14th

East Sac At Greene County

Greene County 5

East Sac 0

The final score doesn’t indicate how well the Raiders played. East Sac trailed 2-0 with 11:00 left in the match before Greene County was able to pull away and improve to 10-6 and dropping the Raiders to 0-13. The Rams scored just once in the 1st half against a defense that has been played well the last month. The 1-0 deficit gave the Raiders hope they would be able to break through and maybe catch a break. Greene County kept the pressure on and eventually broke through.

Luke Wernimont finished the night in goal with 17 saves. Luke Wright had their only shot on goal.

East Sac Stats

Carroll suffered a tough loss on Friday dropping their record to 4-11. The Tigers had been playing well and had opportunities with 14 shots on goal but again struggled to score. Harlan improved to 3-13 on the season.

Harlan struck first at the 35:00 mark and added two more goals in the half at the 27:00 and 11:0 mark.

Treyton Goins finished with 10 saves. The Tigers had six players with two shots each on goal in Emmanuel Jioklow, Kelin Jones, Isaac Lo, Jireh Gallegos, Nick Sorenson and Clayton Weitl. Carroll didn’t have any breakaway chances to score but the offense created a few good looks.

The Tigers travel to Perry on Tuesday and then to Glenwood on Thursday for 1st round Sub-State.
