Carroll Falls Just Short At Winterset, Kuemper Losses At Lewis Central

Boys Soccer Results Thursday, May 14th

Carroll At Winterset

Winterset 2

Carroll 0

Carroll played well again on Thursday but fell a little short. The game was scoreless at halftime and stayed that way until about the 28:00 of the 2nd half. Carroll was called for a foul, giving the Huskies a penalty kick they would take advantage of. They were able to place the ball the opposite way the Tigers anticipated and led 1-0.

Carroll responded with some great opportunities as Clayton Weitl nearly scored on two great opportunities and Emmanuel Jioklow had a nice cross into Caleb Vanderheiden who just missed on the far post. Winterset added an insurance goal with 4:00 left to lead 2-0. The Tigers had a chance but the ball kept bouncing around near the goal and the Huskies tapped it in.

Clayton Weitl had 5 shots on goal while Treyton Goins finished with 12 saves.

Carroll will host Harlan on Friday.
