Audubon, Glidden Ralston, and Coon Rapids Bayard at Class 1A Sectionals at Coon Rapids

Audubon, Glidden Ralston, and Coon Rapids Bayard all competed in the Class 1A boys sectional meet Friday. Coon Rapids Bayard was able to grab a spot in next week’s district meet with a second place finish with a score of 343. St Edmond won the meet and advanced to districts with a score of 324. Earlham is the final team that advanced to the district meet as they finished in third with a team score of 346. Audubon finished in fourth place with a score of 350 and are sending an individual to the district meet. Glidden Ralston finished in fifth place with a score of 409. 

Josue Ramirez of Coon Rapids Bayard ended his day on the course with runner up medalist honors with a score of 78. Jeffery Kracht contributed well to the team score with his score of 84. Preston McAlister’s score was only three strokes more than Kracht as he finished with an 87. Jacob Estrada rounded out the scoring for the Crusaders as he got a score of 94. 

Audubon’s Joey Schramm grabbed a spot as an individual in next week’s district meet as he finished in 5th place with a score of 83. Jay Remsburg finished in 9th place individually with his score of 87. Carter Andreasen finished one stroke more than Remsburg with an 88. Aiden Alt wrapped up the scoring for Audubon, finishing the course with a score of 92. 

For Glidden Ralston, Caden Smith finished his day with a team low score of 95. Kyler Olberding stayed closely ahead of Smith, scoring a 96. John Whitver ended the day in the rain with a score of 107. Caden Wenck was the fourth and final golfer for Glidden Ralston, finishing the meet with a score of 111. 

Coon Rapids Bayard and Audubon’s Joey Schramm will travel to the Lakeside Golf Course for the Class 1A District Golf Meet, hosted by St Edmond, on Friday, May 21st beginning at 10 am.
