One week from today (Saturday) on May 22, the Audubon Fire and Rescue department is hosting their first annual Red Ball Golf Tournament and raffle. Department member, Dave Witt, says the money raised is earmarked for a specific project.
Work has already begun on removal of the current building.
With the pandemic-related price increases, the project estimate has risen from about $2 million to around $2.5 million. Witt says they are holding off for a little bit, hoping that costs will come down again. On the day of the tournament, he says golfers will want to make sure they don’t pass up the chance to add a red ball to their game.
They will also be incorporating pin prizes and a hole-in-one prize. Witt says they have gotten off to a great start with registration of four-person teams, but there is still room for more.
Registration forms are available at the country club, they are accessible through the Audubon Fire and Rescue Facebook page, a link to which is included below, or by contacting any department member. Witt says there are also a lot of great items in their raffle.
These tickets can be purchased the day of the Red Ball Tournament as well. Those wishing to make a donation to the building project can do so through the methods detailed here.
