One Killed And Three Others Seriously Injured In Saturday Accident South Of Denison

One person has died and three others were airlifted to a Nebraska hospital for treatment of serious injuries following an accident south of Denison on Saturday morning. The Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene on U.S. Highway 59 near 25th Avenue South at approximately 7:28 a.m. The initial investigation has shown that 30-year-old Theresa Mae Denery of Cherokee was northbound on Highway 59 in a 2017 Nissan Sentra, when for unknown reasons, she crossed the center line. This resulted in a head-on collision with a 2018 Toyota Camry, driven by 39-year-old Corina Campa of Denison. Denery was pronounced dead at the scene. Campa and two passengers from her vehicle, 21-year-old Esmeralda Luna and a seven-year-old female, both of Denison, were airlifted by Life Net to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
