No injuries and minimal damages were reported in two separate incidents Tuesday in Jefferson. The Jefferson Police Department responded to the first accident at 8:10 a.m. in the 1900 block of North Grimmell Road. Ann Hicks of Scranton was southbound on North Grimmell in a 2017 Jeep Cherokee and had stopped for traffic to negotiate a left-hand turn. Jesse Miller of Scranton was also southbound, behind the Hicks vehicle in a 2012 Ford Edge, but failed to stop and rear-ended the Jeep. There was an estimated $2,500 in damage to the Hicks vehicle and only minor damage to the Edge. The second accident, at North Elm and Clark Streets, was reported at 12:05 p.m. When the officer arrived, he learned the driver of a flag vehicle for a wide load semi had been traveling north and attempted to change lanes. He struck another northbound vehicle owned by Home State Bank and being driven by Marcus Michaelson. The flag-vehicle operator provided insurance information to Michaelson and then left to catch up with the semi. There was an estimated $1,500 in damage to the Home State vehicle. The officer is working to gather more information from the other driver.
