Nemaha Man Arrested On Multiple Felony Charges After Storm Lake Police Department Burglary Investigation

A Nemaha man faces felony charges following a Storm Lake Police Department investigation into a reported burglary. Authorities were notified Tuesday of the suspected burglary to a motor vehicle parked in a Tyson lot. Their investigation found 45-year-old Leonard Allen Weimer had entered the victim’s car and removed property from within. Officers then obtained a search warrant for a residence connected to Weimer in the 500 block of W. 8th Street. Law enforcement says a .380 caliber handgun and ammunition were also located during the search for the stolen items. Weimer was taken into custody and transported to the Buena Vista County jail and charged with second-offense motor vehicle burglary and possession of a firearm by a felon, class D felonies. As of Thursday afternoon, Weimer remains in custody on a $15,000 bond.
