Following its cancellation last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Lake View Community Club’s popular wine, beer and liquor-tasting event is returning with a flourish next month. According to Jen Stargell, the club’s public relations coordinator, Sip & Sample has grown in size each time it has been held, and she expects that will be the case for 2021.
The 13th annual Sip & Sample will be held on Saturday, June 5 from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in downtown Lake View. Sample glasses are $15 each and can be purchased at the gate on the day of the event. Stargell says pre-sales are also available.
She adds Sip & Sample will be held rain or shine, but they have prepared for the potential of inclement weather by reserving the American Legion building as a backup location. Stargell says attendees should plan to stick around Lake View once the vendors close, as the first Stone Pier Concert of the summer begins immediately after just down the road.
Des Moines singer-songwriter, Joshua Sinclair begins at 5:30 p.m. with the Pork Tornadoes to follow with music tuned to fit all tastes. Links with more information on the 13th annual Sip & Sample and a full list of businesses and locations that are offering pre-sales can be found included below.
