An Arcadia man wanted on an outstanding warrant for controlled substance violations has been taken into custody by the Carroll Police Department. According to Carroll County District Court records, 39-year-old Chad Alvin Prichard was arrested Wednesday, May 19 on the class B felony charge. The arrest stems from an incident during the early morning hours of March 13 in Carroll’s Northwest Park. Authorities say an officer approached Prichard to investigate why he was in the park after hours, but he fled on foot when law enforcement approached. He was apprehended a short distance later in the 1400 block of Harriet Avenue. Over 18 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine was located on his person and sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) laboratory. Test results confirmed it was narcotics. A class B felony in Iowa carries a maximum penalty of up to 25 years in prison.
