Arrest warrants have been requested for a Pilot Mound man who is accused of writing checks from a deceased woman’s account. The Jefferson Police Department reports an investigation was opened on Feb. 22 when Hy-Vee reported receiving a check for just shy of $830 off an account of a Boone County woman who was deceased. Upon conclusion of the investigation, the officer has requested two warrants against 40-year-old Joshua Kelly Uranga on charges of forgery, a class D felony, and third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor. If convicted on these charges, Uranga could face up to seven years in prison and $18,785 in fines.
